France, a country in europe, is a city-state. It wasn't until the midieval times when France was fully developed. Prehistoric cave dwellers, people from the stone age, are estimated to have inhabitad France as far as 750,000 years ago. The first people to inhabit what is now France were the stone age hunters. Romans conquered France in first century B.C. (before christ). By the late 16,000's france dominated most of europe. Long ago France was the most powerful kingdom in western Europe by the 1330s. The first people to inhabit what is now france where cavedwelers. The Romans conqured France in the first centry. France is a nation state. By 51 b.c. the Romans had conqured the areas celtics inhabited, the Gauls, who then adopted the Romans customs, languge, and laws. More than 58 million years ago people lived in France. Mnay people who have occupied France leave their mark. Between 40,000 and 30,000 B.C. another race of humans arrived called Cromagnans. Number wise France is mostly a Catholic nation. 81% of France is a Catholic nation

The parliament holds its full sessions in Strasbourg, France, smaller meetings are are held in Brussels. France was a founding member of the European Union, in 1951. In May and June voters in France rejected the new constitution the Government had to offer. France, Italy, and Spain payed for 64% of the reabate there was for the European Union. France which funds 31% of the rabate has taken the lead Obolition. A major focus of the naions foreign policy is that their a founding member of the European Union. France is only one of 27 countries in the European Union. Up until 1993 the E.U. was known as the European Community.

The E.U. agreed that they would put fast start money on the table for copenhagen towards global financing. The European Union is one of the biggest donpr of climate change worldwide. There objective is to stay at a two degrees celsius limit, as science tells us we must. As a part of a global and comprehensive agreement for the period beyond 2012, the E.U. reiterates its conditional offer to move to a 30% reduction by 2020 compared to 1990 levels. France and African countries have drawn up a joint statement backing targets to limit the rise in global temperatures to two degrees celsius. France has given itself the goal of cutting energy consumption in buildings and homes by nearly 40% by 2020. The EU is one of Afghanistans biggest donors. On November 16, 2005 the Eu and Afghanistan adopted a Joint Declaration. The eu has a long term comitment to Afghanistan. The Afghanistan Compact, launched at the London Conference in Janurary 2006, provides the political framework for cooperation between Afghanistan and the international community for the current 5 year period.

Is home to one of the largest economies in the world. France is one of the most visited sight on the planet. At one time France was the most populous and wealthiest country in Europe. In the middle of the eighteenth century the population was 24.6 million. In 2002 the euro finally replaced Frances current currncy, the franc. Around 80% of Frances energy is generated by nuclear power to help the environment because its almost as good as sun power.
